Just what does "a couple of 'lumpy' weeks" mean...well, I'll tell you. "Lumpy" weeks are day after day of either too cold, too humid or too hot. Bill's breathing is at the mercy of the barometer. And it can change from minute to minute literally. He has had to take more steroids than he prefers to have to take, but it is the only remedy for his breathing problems though it takes 1to2 hours after taking the pills for them to take affect. The whole situation makes him very demanding and extremely cranky. I have learned not to say anything when he is as his retort is "well, at least you can breath". And he is right.
On the "laughier" side, Trish and I snuck away for a couple of days to a scrapbook weekend. Tim was left in charge of the homefront....and a good thing too as the air conditioning went out and Bill had a bad episode. Bad episodes are when he absolutely can't breathe and thus panics making things all the worse. The event ran Thursday through Sunday.....I joined Trish on Friday afternoon and left early Saturday. I never knew a thing about his problems until I got home. I had talked to Bill several times during the time I was absent and he never said a thing.,,,..kept telling me to have a good time.
My reason for returning Saturday wasn't all about Bill. Actually, his sis and bro-in-law (Shelle&Bill) were stopping by for a few days on their way to visit with daughter Sandy and her family. They were meeting them in DC and spending a week being tourists with them. Bill (my Bill) decided it would be fun to meet them in DC for a day too. It wasn't easy, but we made a reservation at their hotel, loaded the car with the oxygen paraphernalia and on one of the hottest days of the month, drove to DC. It ws impossible to leave the hotel....we ordered in, spent the evening with the family and drove back the next AM. It was a bad decision to begin with....kept saying we should have known better. Bill was exhausted. It was good to get home.
That particular weekend was a "never rains but it pours" weekend. For two months nothing was happening...then it all came in one weekend. It was chuck full of good things though. Tim's special friend Maggie moved to our area from Orlando. They have known each other for a couple of years.....felt something for the past year, but neither felt any serious decisions could be made with the distance between them. After 10 years in FLa, Maggie made the decision to leave friends and a job she loved (she has her masters in art and had a really great teaching job) to see where this relationship might go. They seem very happy together...she is a delight and makes my son smile. What more can you ask? Her parents helped her move up so we were pleased to have the opportunity to meet them and to try to reassure them that we would take good care of their lovely daughter.
Well, I haven't been "blogging" because of "lumps"...but Trish convinced me that that is one of the purposes of blogs....to get it out so to speak. I'm not sure I'm comforable with it but I did it. We'll see how it goes. Now it's back to the world.
